My CV

DWP – User Researcher

December 2016 – Present

I am currently working within the user research team within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). I mainly work within a multidisciplinary agile project team to understand our the users of our services and problems they face, allowing us to improve the way people interact with the Department or specific services.

It is my responsibility to help the team understand the needs of our users and to help them to be able represent the users when decisions which impact the user journey are being made. To do this, I organise, plan and run research sessions with a range of user groups. I aim to involve the whole team in the research process, from planning to analysis.

RNIB – User Experience Co-ordinator

July 2015 – December 2016

I was initially part of the research team which was responsible for the product user testing of the Smart Glasses project, which had been developed by a team at The University of Oxford. For this project, I co-ordinated and ran a study which involved 200 participants and 20 UK locations. Following this phase, I ran a diary study where 20 people were asked to use the Smart Glasses at home for up to 8 weeks. The findings were published on the RNIB Research Hub and presented to Google who funded the work.

I then joined the Digital Accessibility team, where I was responsible for evaluating digital and physical products against internal and international usability and accessibility standards before carrying out usability testing of these products and services with users.

PrimarySite LTD – Website Technician
